American Hardware Manufacturers Association.

Manager: In this position, which reports to the CEO, I am responsible for the strategic direction and implementation/utilization of technology. During my time at AHMA I have reduced the cost of web site hosting by over 80%; reduced the number of people required to support the infrastructure; saved over $100K in the choice of an Association Management System; saved 30% on printing costs; and saved 40% on telephone equipment and services. In addition, my efforts continually save money and improve service levels through the effective use of in house skills and outsourced consultants, right-sizing and consolidation of hardware and equipment, and automating previously manual tasks.

 

My responsibilities include internet (including e-commerce), database, reporting system, ERP/CRM applications, Financial applications, and other technology related infrastructure. Oversee and participate in the programming and systems management of all aspects of various Web systems, including design, release, Web 2.0 and Social Media, search engine positioning and maintenance. Work with internal departments as well as technology vendors to maximize opportunities and reduce costs in the company’s technology position. Improve business processes and support critical business strategies with technology. Ensure the security of systems, access, and applications as well as compliance with emerging technology-related regulations.

Represent the association and the industry on various committees, such as VICS, EPC Alliance, GSMP Standards, Hardlines & Electronics Attribute Committee, etc. Responsible for the content and project management of the annual Hardlines Technology Forum, the premier technology event for the hardlines industry. Webmaster/Manager/Director: Responsible for management of both the Development staff and Network Administration staff to produce quality web sites for the firm and our clients. Coordinated and participated heavily in establishing BCI as an Internet Development practitioner. Projects include static web sites, E-Commerce efforts, VPN implementations, and Security Analyses for various clients. Provide information architecture, internet strategy definition, and coding in Javascript, HTML, ASP, SQL, site configuration in IIS, Microsoft Exchange, I-mail, and WebTrends. Various development tools are used for clients as well as BCI corporate site. Provide technical representation in boardroom presentations for marketing/sales efforts.

Sr. Consultant: Manage, design, code, test and implement requests for new and existing systems for clients utilizing CASE tool technologies.  Participated as member of a client Y2K Project Teams for systems in both batch and on-line environments.  Responsibilities included analysis, design, programming, ad-hoc DB2 query development in batch and on-line SPUFI and QMF, project management, team management and Consulting Services Management duties.  Responsible for Web Development project teams that developed consulting firm’s own web page as well as ongoing support of firm’s web access, site content and site enhancement efforts.

Moore Business Forms & Systems Division, Lake Forest, IL

IT Department Manager: Responsible for cross-functional new development teams that implemented an Enterprise-wide Customer database system utilizing the IEF Case tool; a high visibility project requiring extensive integration with other application areas, interaction with various user departments and upper level management. As Project Manager: Assumed responsibility for the overall coordination and implementation of a multi-million dollar conversion and consolidation of 3 decentralized data centers and their multiple applications. This multi-facility, multi-department project was delivered on time and on budget. Also responsible for the National Sales Systems enhancements, maintenance and support teams, including key client coordination/communication, task/time estimation, task assignments, and project status reporting.
